
Over the last 7 years i’ve had the opportunity to help develop AWS’ animated explainer look and feel, creative directed multiple pitches for their global summits and participated in multiple production shoots. The constant challenge of marketing cloud services to a technologically driven audience has made working on this account something look forward to.
AWS Partner Summit 2020
Role: Creative Director
The 2020 Partner Summit artwork was conceptualized by the idea of canyons which represent the different layers of services that AWS provides to their consumer base. Our vision was to present an always evolving environment with color and perspective shifts that keep the audience engaged and create beautiful compositions for the content to be presented.
AWS Open Summit 2019
Role: Creative Director
Using collateral material created for the event by a third party as inspiration, our task was to translate the flat 2D artwork into a beautiful and engaging video treatment highlighting AWS’ capabilities to a keynote audience wit the goal of getting them excited about the products available to them as well as executing other supporting media executed across multiple channels.
The initial art inspired us with the idea of topology and we utilized that as our vehicle to bring the artwork into a beautiful 3D execution that creates interesting geometry in which the content is presented. Using extreme camera focus and motion we keep the audience engaged through the entirety of the piece.
AWS re:Inforce
Role: Creative Director
RE:INFORCE is AWS’ cyber security conference. For this project the goal was to create a keynote walk in piece that highlighted some of AWS’ executives talking about the importance of the matter as well as partner testimonials on how AWS solutions are the right decision when thinking about their organizations cyber security.
Our challenge was to create a cohesive motion piece from existing footage from previous events with the goal of getting the audience excited about attending the different talks in the conference.
TMA Show Title Sequence & Graphics Package
Role: Creative Director, Motion Graphics Designer/Editor
This Is My Architecture is the branch of AWS that features trailblazing businesses using AWS solutions to create innovative applications. With a low budget available, the goal was to create a worldly and exciting show intro featuring multiple locations all over the world and give the audience a sense for what’s in store for each episode. Leveraging some of AWS’ core branding elements I created a concept that builds on the idea of layers and roadmapping, which is a method used by software engineers to define to best flow in which their application should work. The result is a multi layered treatment I called “Databuild”. That concept was then leveraged to carry the visual weight and act as the glue the holds the piece together.
Global Partner Testimonials
Role: Creative Director, Concept Designer
For this project the goal was to reimagine the way a talking head video testimonial is executed and try to evolve it into something a bit more visually intriguing. This concept was my way to bring a highly graphical aesthetic to the mix by increasing contrast and overlaying the footage with an animated pattern. The treatment is complemented by adding pull quotes into the frame making the composition highly graphical.
